A disturbing investigation is underway in Poland after human fetal remains and medical waste were discovered buried on a private property in Lutoryż, near Rzeszów. Prosecutors say they were alerted on June 10 after earthworks uncovered large quantities of medical waste, including paraffin blocks and microscope slides. A 57-year-old woman, identified by prosecutors as Magdalena H., a doctor specialising in pathology, was detained on June 12 in Zamość. Authorities say the current owners of the property had purchased the land from her, and the discovery was made during work on the site. The exact number of remains has not been officially confirmed, but media reports claim up to 30 unborn babies may have been found.
The case is now being handled by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Rzeszów. Investigators are examining possible offences including desecration of human remains and illegal disposal of hazardous medical waste. Prosecutors say evidence collection at the property is continuing under official supervision and may take days to complete.
